Project Scope: One of the most unique features of the adaptive reuse of the Crawfordsville High School is the preservation of the exterior appearance and function of the historic structure. All exterior doors, windows and architectural detail were restored and retained. The entire adaptive reuse effort was undertaken in two separate and distinct phases. In Phase I, the school's classrooms were converted into 73 units of rental housing for disabled, senior citizens. In Phase II, the 50,000 sf gymnasium was completely renovated.
Project Comments: The entire project was completed 3 months ahead of schedule at a 2% cost savings.
