This is a national award presented to the most outstanding tax credit projects selected through a nationwide competition.

The Historic Jefferson Centre, located in downtown Lafayette, is one of Stenz Construction’s most recently completed restoration projects involving the adaptive reuse of a historic high school in central Indiana. Jefferson High School, Lebanon High School, renamed Memory Hall, and Crawfordsville High School, renamed Athena Center, were each transformed by Stenz into senior housing apartments with commercial office space. Stenz was honored with the 2002 Governor’s Award of Excellence in Affordable Housing for the conversion of the Crawfordsville High School into the Athena Center.
