As we celebrate 36 years in business, to introduce our company properly, I feel it is best to explain here we have been and conclude with our vision of the future. The chronology begins in 1973 when Stenz Corporation was incorporated as a General Contractor and Millwright, specializing in the new-home market, and we built over 100 luxury, custom homes in the Indianapolis area. Recognizing an opportunity in urban redevelopment in 1976, Stenz Corporation purchased a building in historic Lockerbie Square and renovated it into its headquarters. The development of downtown Indianapolis has been, and will remain, a major focus of this company. During the succeeding 30 years, our company was involved in the construction of many notable structures in Indianapolis, such as The Walker Theatre, 54 Monument Circle (Test Building), the Canterbury Hotel, The Glove Factory and the Indianapolis Repertory Theatre, just to name a few. While creating a niche as experts in the renovation and restoration market (restoring over 56 certified, historic landmarks), Stenz Corporation became very active in new, general construction, including new office buildings, school buildings, parking facilities, restaurants, banks, law and medical offices and multi-family apartments. (See list of projects.) Stenz Construction has been honored with thirty-nine awards of excellence for construction and development by the City of Indianapolis. Most notably was the "Craftsmanship Award" presented to Stenz Construction by AIA (American Institute of Architects) for its detailed finish work on the Canterbury Hotel and 429 Pennsylvania Center, our headquarters. Stenz's young, energetic and innovative group of professionals represents an extensive compilation of capability and experience. These impressive resources are pooled to solve a variety of construction challenges that are met with a dedication to quality, an appreciation of the past and a belief in tomorrow. |
